What is the history of the Teachers' Choice Awards?
In 1994, Learning Magazine introduced the first Teachers' Choice Awards program. Over the years, the program has grown to become one of the most recognized and prestigious awards in the educational market. For the 7th annual program, 12 Children's Books winners were chosen based on their scores from the evaluations done by a panel of teachers across the country. These winners receive a spotlight in our special Children's Books award section as well as a blue and gold seal distinguishing them as a Children's Books winner.
How are the books evaluated?
A team of teachers evaluates each book in the classroom. The books are evaluated on quality, instructional value, ease of use, and innovation.
How are the winners selected?
Each book is evaluated on its own merit. Only those books that meet our teachers' stringent standards are chosen to receive a Teachers' Choice Award.
What makes Teachers' Choice different from other educational awards programs?
Teachers' Choice is the only awards program that is exclusively judged by teachers in the classroom. What better way to evaluate a product's educational value than in real-life use?
